St Mary’s C of E Aided Primary School and Nursery

Riddlesden St Mary’s C of E Primary School

Our church plays an integral part in the running of the school.
Members of the congregation elected by the PCC make up a large part of the governing body.
Children visit church at the end of each term, and the vicar regularly takes assemblies.
The children make an enormous contribution to our Harvest giving, and our congregation constantly support the school by saving Tesco, Morrisons and/or Sainsburys vouchers, to supplement them with sports, gardening and school equipment.

Riddlesden Christian Churches

We work closely with the Ilkley Road Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church in Riddlesden, holding at least three joint services each year, and also sharing a Christmas service in the Airedale Barn at East Riddlesden Hall, which is always a full house.  There have also been concerts by the singing group Encore,  Burns Night celebration where 90 people of all ages enjoyed Scottish dancing followed by a supper of tatties, neaps and haggis, and in 2014 all three churches were open all day with activities, exhibitions and refreshments during the Tour de Riddlesden, when they galvanised the village to get on their bikes! (see the video!)

Riddlesden Gala

The Riddlesden Churches Together take an active part in the annual Riddlesden Gala, which is held in the school grounds on the second Saturday of June, by organising free craft activities for children.  The Gala raises much needed funds for local charities.

  1. Hello. I would like to say that I like this website very much. Congratulations. If someone would like to get in touch with me I would like to share some comments, dare I say advice, about its relationship with the Parish News that I still subscribe to. I would also like to comment on the section “Riddlesden Churches Together”.
